About Me
I had always loved to travel, but after years of working in the corporate world, I began to feel like I was missing out on some of the best experiences the world had to offer. So, at the age of 50, I decided to quit my job and explore more of the world. And one of the things I quickly confirmed was that some of the best food experiences can only be had when you travel.
From street food in Vietnam to fine dining in Paris, there are just so many amazing culinary experiences to be had around the world. And while you can find good food just about anywhere, there is something special about enjoying a meal in a new place. Whether it’s trying a dish that is completely unfamiliar or simply savoring a classic dish in its country of origin, there is just something about travel and food that go hand in hand.
So, I decided to start The Roaming Fork as a way to capture and share some of my most memorable food and travel experiences. Here you will find stories, recipes, photos, reviews and much more from my adventures around the globe.
I hope that you will join me on this journey and find something here that resonates with you. I look forward to exploring the world, one meal at a time!
Happy travels,
Markus
